INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR DIPLOMA IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE (DNS) :
Eligibility :
10+2 or equivalent qualification from a Govt. recognised Board / University with 55% marks in PCM and 50% marks in English.
Medically fit with un-aided eye sight 6/6 in both eyes without any colour blindness.
Age should not be more than 20 years as 01.08.2008.
Procedure for Selection :
IMI is conducting selection for short-listing candidates for reputed shipping companies like M/s. Pacific International Lines Pte. Ltd, Singapore, M/s. Varun Shipping Ltd., etc
Step1 :
The written test and interview for short-listing is on 20.05.2008. You are to bring the following with you at the time of IMI selection examination:
10+2 results, a demand draft for Rs. 600/- favouring IGNOU payable at ‘Delhi’ towards IGNOU application form.
Rs. 500/- towards institute application charges and Rs. 10,000/- towards security deposit ( for short-listed candidates only).
Step 2
:
IMI will conduct a written test followed by short interview, and those who qualify will be short-listed and presented to shipping company for final selection on 21st May 2008.
The selected candidates will be issued sponsorship letter after clearing IGNOU OPEN-NET exams.
Step 3
:
Appear for the OPEN-NET examination conducted by IGNOU on 15th JUNE, 2008.
Step 4
:
On final selection candidates will need to undergo Medical Examination conducted by company doctor and on clearance of the same, are to deposit Rs. 1,15,500/- as the fist instalment of course fee.
Final results will be declared after declaration of IGNOU OPEN-NET results.

Eligibility :
10+2 or equivalent qualification from a Govt. recognised Board / University with 60% marks in PCM and 50% marks in English.
Medically fit with aided or un-aided eye sight ±2.5 in both eyes without any colour blindness.
Procedure for Selection:
Step1. :
Those appearing are to bring the following with them at the time of entrance examination:
10+2 results, Rs. 500/- towards institute application charges and Rs. 10,000/- towards registration charges (for short-listed candidates only).
Final selection is subject to vacant seats available with the management after UPTU counselling as per UPTU and D.G. Shipping guidelines.
